The popularity of the “reality” (term used loosely) shows, “The Bachelor” and “Joe Millionaire,” simply reveals that we are looking for love. Most of us women, regardless of how intelligent we are, have a desire to be swept off of our feet and loved by Prince Charming. As we saw in those shows, we are willing to look silly and be humiliated on our quest to meet Mr. Right. Wanting to be loved is natural and healthy- we were created to need love and to give it. thinking we will receive the kind of love our soul longs for from a man will only lead to frustration and a never-ending quest!
The good news is… YOU ARE LOVED. . with a love that is beyond compare! When your heavenly Father created you, He said, “Perfect… wonderful… lovely!” He calls you His daughter, His princess. Our value comes from knowing that we are the irreplaceable, delightful, loved-beyond-compare daughters of the King. When we understand that- how we are greatly loved by our Father- then we will approach earthly love from a much healthier place. Because, truly, we won’t be able to give love to anyone until we begin to understand how much our Father loves and values us. We can then love someone else from a whole and healthy place, instead of looking for someone else to complete us.
